During the year there had been some spontaneous opportunities to go for prep rides. The good thing about some gained experience over the years and confidence are that I can just take my bike and ride. It does not require hours or days of preparation and modifications to the setup. There is an amazong bicycle that is part of myself. No adjustments required, no replacement of components necessary. This is a big step ahead.

The heat waves that caught Europe over the past weeks brought a perfect opportunity for riding in the heat. As I am not a great fan of very hot conditions I had to see these weeks aa an important chance. During my very first TCR the heat caught me in Greece and hit me off the bike under a tree where I stayed of half a day. During the second TCR same happening in Macedonia, I felt sick and spend a day in a shadow place inside a small city. The beads of sweat on my skin during the late afternoon operated as lenses and the sun burned of my skin, while the temperature on my Garmin climbed to an all time high of 49.8 degree celsius. That is going to be my toughest portion of the entire journey.
